The first annual Bazaar Bazaar Maisonneuve Variety Show is a ticketed and sponsored cabaret-style live performance event featuring musicians, bands, dancers, comedians and cirque troupes. The shows are scheduled for September 16, 17 & 18, 2004 in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal respectively. The events will be supported with an aggressive promotional and media relations campaign in late August and September.
The Montreal show may also be filmed for later release on DVD. The DVD would include footage of the performance, music videos, extras, and the winning entries to Maisonneuve’s first annual and professionally judged Digital Curiosity visual moving media competition for students and young professionals. [Judges include Adland webmaster Ask Wappling (Copenhagen), Ka-Chew! Commercials Senior Producer Nathalie Renard (Los Angeles), Ka-Chew! Commercials Director Bil White (Los Angeles), MuchMoreMusic VJ Karina Huber (Toronto), and Maisonneuve Editor-in-Chief Derek Webster (Montreal).] The DVD may be marketed separately in stores and/or as an item in the 2004 Maisonneuve box set – just in time for Christmas.
Target Market
Maisonneuve targets the trendsetters and leaders of tomorrow: young (25-45), open-minded, inquisitive, quality-seeking, post-undergraduate educated urban people. Click the links below to see footage of Maisonneuve's highly successful Visual Curiosity [not just] art party, held April 15, 2004 at The SAT in Montreal. Approximately 2500 (three times more than Visual Curiosity 2003) of Montreal's smartest and most stylish engaged with seven art exhibits as well as with sponsored installations that included a bed, flavoured oxygen, massage, body painting, and sushi. The event was covered by all local media and was showcased nationally on CBC's Play with Jian Ghomeshi.
